In this post I want to tell you about my first studio photosession

My first studio photosession (was SO cool!)

It was my goal for 2026 - a studio photosession. I told all my friends about it. One day, my bestie said she wanted to do one too!

We immediately started searching for affordable studios with a cyclorama, because I wanted glossy magazine-style shots!!

We began preparing - buying new clothes, picking outfits. I started watching tons of YouTube videos about studio flashes and how to create proper lighting setups.

We had about a month to prepare, but I did most things two days before - I had so much else going on and was kinda stressed about it. A week before our studio appointment, I still hadn't fully decided what outfit to wear. We planned to bring two outfits each to take more photos!

And I got an unexpected haircut three weeks before. I was so stressed about it, but after some time I figured out how to style it properly... and I started to love it!

The morning before the photosession was full of emotions - I got my longsleeve dirty, we ran out of time, and our train was kinda delayed.

But we made it to the studio. First, we changed and started setting up the flash and two reflectors. We used the simplest lighting setup, but the results were SO good, I think!

During the photosession we cheered each other on, laughed, and played our favourite songs on a speaker. I felt like a model on a work trip while posing - and like a magazine photographer when setting up lights and shooting! (Stop laughing, lol.)

The studio had so many interesting chairs, sofas, and accessories - colored gel filters, different nozzles, softboxes...

We had two hours to shoot two outfits for both of us. We spent a lot of time changing and finding camera angles, but we managed to take all the photos we wanted. I'd hoped to try more lighting schemes, but saved that for next time.

We were sooo exhausted after two hours - but so happy at the same time! A whole month of preparing? Totally worth it!

Next time, we decided to bring just one outfit each and focus on more creative lighting... and don't forget the banking details!

We took around 1200 photos!! Now we're rewatching them, picking our favourites, and editing. I hope I can edit them soon - I really want to show them to all my friends!
